Our Rookies are Hard at Work!
Meet two of our inspiring 2026 rookie teams: FRC 11285 Purple Autobots from C.S. Brown High School in Winton and FRC 11377 Knightmare Robotics from Lake Norman Charter School in Huntersville. Though they come from opposite sides of our state - with very different resources and challenges - both are united by the same spark: students excited to build something amazing, learn new skills, and work together toward a shared goal. They’re discovering that robotics isn’t just about engineering - it’s about teamwork, creativity, and the sheer joy of creating something that moves.
As they put the finishing touches on their robots for their first competitions this March, these students remind us why hands-on learning matters. They’re stepping away from screens to solve real problems, collaborate face-to-face, and gain the confidence to take on tough challenges. You can see their hard work and excitement in action at this year’s FIRST Robotics Competition events Admission is free and all are welcome! Visit our website for event details and tickets, and come cheer on the next generation of innovators your support helps make possible.
